JSC Shaimerden is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethical corporate conduct and environmental sustainability. Because we understand how important energy is to every part of our lives, JSC Shaimerden supports the adoption of secondary and tertiary recovery techniques to prolong the life of natural gas and oil fields and reservoirs. The environmental impact of starting new operations is lessened by these recovery techniques. We collaborate with operators who share our commitment to operating and working responsibly and ethically. We collaborate with operators who are committed to minimizing our environmental effect while attaining complete regulatory compliance.
The company’s sustainable development plan places a high priority on environmental responsibility. The company’s commitment to sustainable development principles is demonstrated by the Environmental Policy, which oversees environmental protection (EP). The document lists the company’s main obligations, which include reducing negative environmental impact (NEI), pursuing resource conservation policies, making sure that environmental standards and requirements set forth by Republic of Kazakhstan legislation and international environmental protection legal acts are followed, compensating for potential environmental harm, taking all necessary steps to protect the climate and biodiversity, and a host of other duties.
Natural gas’s favorable environmental benefits make it essential to achieving the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as helping Kazakhstan’s economy grow at a low carbon rate. The corporation prioritizes lowering air pollution, producing and disposing of less waste from manufacturing and consumption, restoring biodiversity and land, and improving energy efficiency.
The company is aware of how much it has to do to maintain environmental balance when implementing investment projects. Among the methods used are the implementation of programs to preserve biodiversity within the Company’s jurisdiction, continuous environmental monitoring, and the use of state-of-the-art technical solutions to lessen the adverse environmental effects of production activities.
The National Gas Company claims that the development of infrastructure for the sale of gas motor fuel, including liquefied natural gas (LNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG), will help alleviate Kazakhstan’s diesel fuel shortage. In contrast, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan calculates that the nation uses about 5.5 million tons of diesel fuel per year. In contrast, neighboring Uzbekistan, which has twice Kazakhstan’s population, uses three times less diesel fuel. The strong rise of the Kazakhstani gas motor fuel market is the cause of this disparity. In comparison to Kazakhstan, which has 18 CNG filling stations, Kazakhstan has 80 times more CNG filling stations (1,440 units).
The goal of JSC Shaimerden is to connect cities with existing CNG filling stations and increase the market for gas motor fuel by constructing both stationary and mobile CNG filling stations along the main national and international routes. The roads between Western Europe and Western China, Beineu and Uralsk, and Astana and Almaty are among them. If 50% of the demand for diesel fuel is replaced by methane, even under ideal conditions, 3.76 billion m3 of methane will be required, or only 19% of Kazakhstan’s total gas consumption. In order to attract worldwide transportation utilizing gas motor fuel, JSC Shaimerden is currently setting the norm for the growth of the network of CNG filling stations. As a result, gas engines are now used for both domestic and international travel.
